Overview
AI Conversation Vault is a browser extension that saves, searches, and organizes conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
In short: AI Conversation Vault works entirely locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your conversation data.
Data We Access
AI Platform Page Content (Required)
AI Conversation Vault accesses the following websites to parse conversation content:
- chatgpt.com — to read ChatGPT conversations
- claude.ai — to read Claude conversations (including Thinking Process and Artifacts)
- gemini.google.com — to read Gemini conversations
The extension reads the page DOM to extract message text, code blocks, tables, LaTeX expressions, and metadata (title, timestamps, platform). This data never leaves your browser. It is saved directly to your local IndexedDB database.
Local Storage (Required)
AI Conversation Vault stores the following data locally on your device using IndexedDB and chrome.storage.local:
- Saved conversations (messages, metadata, tags)
- Conversation metadata index (for search and filtering)
- User settings and preferences
- License key (if you purchased Pro)
- Growth state (review prompt tracking)
This data stays on your device and is never synced to any cloud service.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your conversation content
- We do not collect your browsing history
- We do not collect personal information (name, email, etc.)
- We do not use analytics or tracking within the extension
- We do not transmit any data to third-party services
Network Requests
The extension makes exactly one type of network request:

No conversation data, personal information, or browsing activity is ever included in any network request. License verification occurs once every 24 hours for Pro users, with a 7-day offline grace period.

Data Retention & Deletion
- All data is stored locally and persists until you delete it
- You can delete individual conversations from the side panel
- Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data from your browser
- We have no access to your stored data and cannot delete it remotely
Children's Privacy
AI Conversation Vault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
