Privacy Policy — LeadSnap Email & Phone Extractor
Last updated: April 28, 2026
Overview
LeadSnap Email & Phone Extractor ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and what is not collected.
What the Extension Does
The Extension scans publicly visible content on webpages you visit to extract email addresses, phone numbers, and social media profile links. It also provides an AutoVisit mode that automatically visits a list of URLs you provide to batch-extract contacts.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your browsing history or browsing habits
- Your personal information or account credentials
- The content of webpages you visit (beyond contact extraction)
- Cookies or tracking identifiers
- Analytics or telemetry data from the extension itself
Data Storage
All extracted contact information is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device.
- Recent scan results: Stored in chrome.storage.local for quick popup display
- Scan history: Stored in IndexedDB (100 records for free users, unlimited for Pro)
- Settings and preferences: Stored in chrome.storage.local
- License key (Pro users only): Stored in chrome.storage.local
You can clear all stored data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing browser extension data.
Network Requests
The Extension makes network requests only in the following cases:
- AutoVisit mode: Visits URLs that you explicitly provide to extract contacts
- License verification (Pro only): Sends your license key to our verification server to validate your Pro subscription. Only the license key is transmitted; no browsing data or extracted contacts are sent.
Permissions
The Extension requests only 3 core permissions:
- activeTab: To read the content of the page you are currently viewing when you click the extension icon
- storage: To save scan results, history, and settings locally
- clipboardWrite: To copy extracted contacts to your clipboard when you click "Copy All"
Optional permissions (scripting, offscreen, alarms) are used for AutoVisit batch scanning and are only activated when you use that feature.
Third-Party Services
The Extension does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service used is our own license verification server for Pro users.
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
