Which languages are supported for translation?
LangTube translates English subtitles into 14+ languages including Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian.
Does it work on all YouTube videos?
LangTube works on any YouTube video that has English subtitles (auto-generated or manual). If a video has no English subtitle track, LangTube will show a friendly message.
How is click-to-lookup powered?
LangTube uses the Free Dictionary API and Wiktionary as fallback sources. Definitions include IPA pronunciation, multiple parts of speech, example sentences, and audio pronunciation.
What data does LangTube collect?
LangTube processes everything locally in your browser. Subtitle data, vocabulary, and dictionary lookups are stored on your device. The only network requests are for translation (Google Translate API) and license verification for Pro users.
